Failed out of school 8 years ago. Went back to school two years ago and will graduate after the upcoming year. Have a 3.7 since coming back, A's in all my pre reqs except for orgo 1 and physics 2 which I received a b+ and b respectively. That also doesn't include my beyond subpar grades from my first two years of college which includes a significant amount of F's and W's. I'm unlikely to get my GPA over a 2.5 by the time I graduate, this will ensure that I won't get a med school to even look at my app. So I have accepted the fact that I will need to do an smp or other grad work to help my resume stand out. As I've been looking at most SMP's and grad programs they have gpa cutoffs too. Even with my time off and extreme upward GPA trend I'm worried that adcoms will just cast my app aside. Any ideas? Are there any programs that cater specifically to students like me with poor initial grades and then an upward trend? Any advice would be helpful.
