Im currently a sophomore majoring in Psychology. Im aiming to recieve a Psy.D in Clinical Psychology but have no clue as to which schools i should be considering. If anyone can offer feedback as to which schools are best for their psy.d program.

Im also interested in the Psychology and Law field so any feedback on college programs in that field would be great as well!!

In general, the university based PsyD programs are better than, independent "professional schools of psychology", both in terms of the quality of training and the faculty, and typically offer better support. Although few if any are fully funded and stipend the way Phd programs are. Quality Psyd programs are also competitive, ans some are nearly as competitive as ph.d programs, so beware of that. I would recommend, Baylor, Rutgers, Xavier, POM. The Stanford-PGSP consortium program is very strong, but the price is huge with zero support.

thanks so much for your reply. it was very helpful to learn about the psychology programs at the schools you've listed.
i hope you check back on my threads often so i can gain more feedback!

thanks again.

I'd question including PGSP there....mainly because it is newly accredited (last year?) and doesn't have the track record of a Rutgers, Baylor, etc. It looks good on paper, faculty, etc....but much too early to automatically include it on a list of top programs.

thanks for the heads up!

i was wondering also...im very interested in psy.d/j.d programs also...any recommendations on that??

don't know about psy.d. j.d, but LIU also has a good Psy. D. program, though funding isn't huge.
