[FONT=&#23435]I am student in China, and I have determined to work on NBDE Part 1. As I have no idea how to prepare for it, I want some help urgently. Here are my questions:.
[FONT=&#23435]1. .[FONT=&#23435]I learnt all the courses in Chinese, so need I buy all the books of subjects within the bounds of NBDE? Or just some review materials are OK?.
[FONT=&#23435]2. .[FONT=&#23435]NEWS says that NBDE in 2012 only awards PASS/FALL, is that true? If it is, what is the new standard of dental schools?.

My friend first of all go for a TOEFL exam, to get into a US school you need a score of about 100 on iBT. Have no idea how are the school is China but telling you right now Part 1 is not easy at all. You need to know the material very very well. Secondly they start paying attention to experience, and esp US experience. But if you work hard you stand a chance like everybody else. Good luck.

You need to know the material very very well. Secondly they start paying attention to experience, and esp US experience. But if you work hard you stand a chance like everybody else. Good luck.

Appreciate that. As TOEFL grade is only valid for two years, I decide to prepare for NBDE first, and I will pratice my English in the meantime. Dut what bothers me a lot is that I don't konw where to start. Would you give me any direction?

Could start with Kaplan lecture notes and tests, but this alone will not get you a grade higher than probably 82. The material is pretty well structured and the online tests gives you an idea how the real test is. The bottom line is that you have to know the biochem very very there everybody scores low. There are a bunch of other books like first aide, Mosby's for part I, so on, dont relay on a single source, this will be my advice, hope this helps.

You can buy kaplan lecture notes and tests, the tests are held on the kaplan website, this are the online tests. The other question, if you are going to buy all the books again is too much work, nobody recomends that.

thanks for responding, i was debating on whether to invest on the kaplan one or the crack the nbde. do you have any idea as to which would make me better equipped?

Kaplan gives you the reason for the answern crack doesnt, both are good depends how much matrial you know, crack doesnt expire and its cheaper is good just for practice, Kaplan expires and its for 1, 3, 6 months periods you pay depending how long of a period you want. I had kaplan lecture notes, first aid part I and DONT WAIST MONEY on dental decks, unless you want to see how many mistakes they have there. Mosby's review is good and it comes with a CD.
