Hey all I'm new to the site and have been reading many many useful things and decided to get your opinion on a dilemma I am facing right now trying to decide what online prep course to enroll in.
I am planning on taking the MCAT in April (I like everyone else on here wasn't able to sign up today so I'll have to try again tomorrow) and am planning on starting my preparation sometime mid-December. Here is some background on me:
-I am an EMT and I work a 24 hr on and 48 hr off schedule so I can not take an on-site prep course because I will have to miss classes and it's way too much money to just miss anything.
-I will only be working during this study time so I will not have to worry about other class material taking up MCAT study time.
-For these reasons I had previously decided to study on my own but I am second guessing myself and would very much like to have online access to materials for extra help and for keeping me on track.
-I'm trying not to let cost be a major factor but of course it will always be. I'm not too worried about the cost of these programs because it will be negated if it helps me score well on the MCAT.
I am currently deciding between 3 options of how to study:
1)Kaplan Advantage On Demand
2)The Princeton Review Online Self Paced Study
3)I already have all the Kaplan books and was thinking of just reading and studying all those and doing the Kaplan Online Science Review
Now I have heard that Kaplan has better online tools but their content isn't as good as TPR's. I have also been unable to find much information at all at TPR's online self paced program and would like to know if anyone has taken it. I also was wondering if you get all the books they have when you sign up for these programs or if it's strictly online. I am just confused as to what you get and which I should choose since the information on the respective sites don't seem too thorough. Could you guys give me tips and/or tell me about your experience with these products. Any help and advice is very much appreciated. Thanks!
