I am feeling very lucky that I have choices, but can't seem to choose. Currently considering BU, Stonybrook, Drexel and NYMC. I liked them all. Stonybrook is least expensive, but also seems to be in the least interesting place to live. It also appears to have the least diverse patient population, but I don't even know if that is actually the case. I'm hoping for a more collaborative leaning environment, but I pretty much used that to narrow down where to apply in the first place. Any thoughts on which of these schools are preferable and why?

Thanks

Not much to go off here, anything specific to each school that you liked? On that note, anything negative at each?

Cost is a good place to start... with regards to collaborative environment, of these four schools, are any of them straight Pass/Fail? I know Drexel isn't, but not sure on the others (and even then, the pre-clinical grading system won't necessarily correlate to the learning environment... perhaps looking at the degree of which PBL/case studies are used could be helpful).

Think about fit, a quality unique to you. What else are you looking for besides environment?

Most people here without any info will likely have you pick between Stony and BU.

If you like each area equally then I would boil your decision down to COA. Again, IF you like the areas equally. Do you love each of those cities?

Thanks for the input. I am IS in NY. So if it's just cost, it's Stonybrook. Some of the docs I work with say to make that the criteria, while others say not to let that be the deciding factor. Boston and Philadelphia seem like more interesting places to live. Curious why SB and BU are generally preferable to the other two? I did think that their proximity to large hospitals might be a plus. I'm on the waiting list at UCSD, but I hear there doesn't tend to be much movement off the wait list. So, I'm assuming that's not in the mix, at least for now. Arghhh. So hard to know what to do, but I only applied where I want to go, so it's a nice problem to have. I think I want to do primary care, but something else might grab me along the way. I was hoping for Manhattan, but didn't get any love from any of those schools.
