Need help Do I need to retake DAT or NOT ???

I took DAT at June 2

AA:18
Biology: 18
G Chem: 20
O Chem: 20
Total Science: 19
RC: 16
QR: 18
PAT: 19

Science GPA: 3.77/3.90
Total GPA: 3.71/3.82

Do I need to retake ? should I put my application on hold for retake ?

Go make sure the schools you're applying to will not cut you for your RC score.

Otherwise, I think you should still apply this cycle if your app is pretty much set. The GPA really buffered your DAT score, which isn't THAT bad to begin with.

Don't retake for this cycle because it's too late, but if you don't get in anywhere, you know what you need to work on. Good luck!

I got refused from .Nova Southeastern University. I did hear any thing else for any other school.

I've been searching around and it seems like these schools have some rumored cutoffs for RC. The other schools, I wouldn't worry too much about.

Probably won't have too much chances at UoP, Columbia, or Penn, but you might have chances at other schools.

You always have a chance. And honestly, nothing that any of us says can assure you one way or another. This is why I keep recommending ambivalent people with some time and money to retake. You're much better off earning your confidence rather than attempting to erase your doubts. Good luck.

I think your GPA should be able to save you on the RC 16. But like AQZ said, some schools have DAT cut offs, so just make sure you DON'T apply to those schools and you'll be fine. 😉

Other than the 16, everything seems very solid.

What is the minimum DAT score of an incoming student at CDM?
We have no minimum or cut-off scores. The mean DAT score of the class entering in 2010 is 22, (the national average is roughly 17), however the range varies from year to year.

Apply, do not put app on hold, but definitely retake if you want a good chance. Be prepared to spend a lot traveling to interviews and gambleing on your acceptance.

If you are hard on cash, retake and apply next cycle.

I think a retake this cycle could be rewarding. I retook my DAT and I am a lot more confident of my chances this cycle. Here are my stats (maybe this will help you decide to retake or not)
Just like your low RC score, I had a really low PAT so this is why I retook:
attempt 1: 18/20/17/20/18/15 (19AA/15PAT)
attempt 2: 19/18/21/22/18/19 (20AA/19PAT)
I just feel like if you're uncomfortable with a section on your DAT, you should do everything you can to improve it!
