I am studying to take the PTCE soon from the PTCE Review 3rd ed. by Zentz and there are soo many medications for every chapter (CNS agents, NSAIDS and narcotics, cardiovascular agents, plumonary agents, antibiotics and anti-infections, etc.) and I was wondering if I really need to know ALL of them or just some. Any help in this area would be appreciated. Any insight with the exam works as well!

THANKS!!!

I'm not sure if the exams vary by state, but the new updated PTCE exam does not include as many Math problems / calculations as before. I believe only 8%, also it is more about insurance policies, definitions, generics/brand names, classifications of the drug and drug classes, and honestly just basic definitions. You'll see a few (very small) percentage of hospital tech questions too concerning proper safety procedures. Hope it helps, at least a little.

No just memorize the top 100, or even top 50 and you should be good
The test is really not hard at all
