If I remember correctly, there is no point in applying to ASDOH unless you have amazing volunteering on your resume. Several hundred hours at least.

a lot is dependent on your DAT scores...

you should check out predents.com.. you can rank the schools based on stats, instate/outstate seats, etc and it could help you out.

k penn i understand...but why tennessee

I dont have my ADEA book infront of me but im pretty sure that it is one of those schools that accept very few OOS applicants.

EDIT Never mind just checked predents and it looks like your ok with tennessee unless someone else knows more then me.

Tenn has 82 seats... and they took 8 OOS...

really??? what year is this??

on predents, it says about 29 OOS are accepted

My brand new spanking shiny ADEA book. They reserve about 20~ seats for Arkansas residents too...

Personally I think everyone should invest in one of these books.

I graduated hygiene school from Univ of Tennessee College of Dentistry..... take it off now!!..... not a chance in hell.... for anyone out of state basically.....

k thanks... i took it off

Do yourself, your family, and your future patients a huge favor and take Boston University off your list. Their program is a joke, plus a severe shortage of patients and old overcrowded facilities. If you need further explanation just search the dental forums on BU.

k...i will take that into consideration before i submit

well answer this question. if BU was the only school you got into, would you go there even if all the stuff you read on SDN was true? If the answer is yes, then apply.

if that was the case...then i would def attend...thanks

Unless you have amazing stats for the dat/know someone I wouldn't bother with NOVA personally. Also as someone said, unless you have 400+ volunteer hours I'd steer clear of asdoh (I had 300 and it was one of the few schools I didn't get an interview at)

i thought that nova had only around 19.58 AA last year..

Pretty much any post by BUDentite will give you the down and dirty on BU. Especially in the Tufts vs. BU thread.

I agree, remove: ASDOH - Love volunteering, more than the average amt
Penn - Love a high DAT
Tenneesee - OOS unfriendly
