I cannot afford to apply to more than 10 DO schools, so I would appreciate your help in naming the schools that would I have a good chance at.
-3.9/27
-MD letter + 2 professors+ committee letter
-LOTS of clinical (both paid and non-paid) and community service hours.

So far, I am thinking about the following schools:

TCOM (top choice because of in-state tuition and location)
PCOM
DMU
UMDNJ (Rowan)
AZCOM
OSU-COM
ATSU-SOMA (AZ)
ATSU-KCOM (MO)
Touro (NY)
NYCOM
CCOM
LECOM (PA, FL)

I would really appreciate any suggestions on which schools I should add/remove from this list.

You should be fine applying to these schools. I would remove Rowan because they're very in-state friendly.

Thank you! Do you think not having a DO letter will be a problem at any of the schools in the list?

For the schools that specifically require a DO letter, yes. Lots of schools don't require one, but one is strongly recommended. It doesn't mean you need to get one.

You should look up all the perquisites for all these schools from their websites and take a look.

Unless you have really strong ties to Oklahoma and a DO LOR, I would take OSU off the list. Close to 90% of their class are state residents and I know last year a DO letter was a requirement.

Delete AZCOM because 29 is their minimum.

A couple of those schools require a DO letter, including LECOM. I concur that it's probably not worth it to apply to AZCOM; their 29 cut-off isn't set in stone but seems to be pretty standard.

Which schools do not require DO letters? Do you mind posting a link to it?

You're right but according to what I have been reading, it doesn't seem to be set in stone. I will call them tomorrow and find out.

RVUCOM would be a good choice, I had fairly similar stats and also only had an MD letter. They especially like if you excelled in upper-level bio courses, so it could be a good place for you. Also, you'd stay fairly close to TX, depending on which part you're from. Good luck!
