I am a senior currently and although I have ended my gpa as strong as I could (3.4cgpa, 3.1sgpa)
I have had to start from a 2.3Cgpa freshman year because of carelessness and earned C's in both gen chems as well as a c+ in eve bio.

This is my plan. are there any flaws in it?
-Start studying for mcat now, take mcat end of summer
-Immediately retake gen chem 102 at a local community college during fall semester as well as apply to DO schools

Would DO schools see my final grade if i retook it or would it be useless?

"The AACOMAS application used for applying to osteopathic schools uses grade replacement for repeated courses when calculating your GPA; only the last grade earned in a repeated course will be used in calculating your GPA (from http://hpplc.indiana.edu/medicine/AcademicRecordandGrades.shtml)"

You have to list every time you take a course, but as long as they are equivalent hours and course level, it will be replaced.

It's a good plan and there are no flaws in it from what I can see. As long as you send an updated transcript to AACOMAS then your grades will be updated. That verification process could take a week or so however.

Have you worked on your personal statement? Are your EC's all lined up for the application?

They're in progress lol.. I feel like i sort of woke up and realized I'm no where near ready

Well the issue with this is when you apply for schools which I am guessing will be July then you will not have that coursework ready to show schools your improvements. Which means the schools look at your GPA as you have it now (C+ in chem) and may screen you out of some programs that require a 3.25 sGPA. You can take the MCAT later in the summer that is fine as long as you submit your primary application by July. A year off would be the best plan so that you can show the improvements and also get involved in shadowing and other activities to stregthen your application.
