For one I totally support your interest in dental school. As long as your interest is genuine (real), I am glad to help you with your endeavor. Like the rest of the posters here said, try to go to a real University. I took 2 classes in a CC (American history and statistics) the summer after my senior year of high school. I did not stick around as I was accepted into a University during high school. In your case you may have to complete some testing requirements such as the SAT 1, SAT II, or the ACT. These tests determine are kind of like the DAT for dental school. The DAT is kind of like the MCAT for medical school. This is a test you are GOING to have to take if you are interesting in dentistry in the United States and Canada (who have their own DAT).
As far as the United States University education system, it is really structured to what you are interested in. Dental schools require prerequisite courses that you MUST complete before entering dental school. These are biology, chemistry,organic chemistry, physics, and random classes based on the school you are applying to. You must receive a C or better in these classes usually for them to count toward University credit and for appearance to dental schools. Of course dental schools want higher grades then C's but a few of them will not prevent you from entering professional school.
As far as the strucuture that I said earlier, the major you choose sets a track for completion of a baccalaureates degree (also known as a B.A., B.S. etc..). This indicates that you graduated from a 4-year institution and completed all required coursework. Then a person has the ability to go to work, or go to graduate school. This could be to get all sorts of degrees. Masters, Ph.D, DDS, MD, M.Ed (education), Engineering degrees. There is a wide variety to look at.
