I am a soon to be freshman at U of I and I am wondering if it is worth it to use IB credit to fulfill the requirement. I understand that some med schools don't accept AP/IB credit for general requirements, but would it be a big deal if I just used credit to fulfill my comp requirement? I would use my IB credit toward the comp 1 requirement but either way I still have to take advanced comp as well. What should I do? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you take advanced comp, that will count for the comp requirement. Use the IB credit if it's going to be a good grade or a PASS. Do NOT use it if it's going to show up as a C. Hope that helps.

I'm assuming by U of I you mean UIUC. I'm in a bit of a pickle at that school because I got AP credit for RHET 105 and I took my advanced comp last semester. However, a lot of schools want 6 hours of writing/English and won't accept AP. I now need to take a second advanced comp to fulfill the 6 hours. If you don't want to take RHET 105, go ahead and use your IB credit but be aware you might need a second advanced comp depending on where you want to apply.

so is it better to just wait and see what schools I apply to before I waste my time taking a class that I might not need? Do the majority of med schools have the 2 comp requirement? so far the ones I've looked at haven't. Yes, I am going to UIUC and the RHET 105 is what I'm thinking about using the credit for.

A lot of the schools I'm applying to do. It depends on a lot of things. It might be safer to just take RHET 105 and an advanced comp. Or if you find a few advanced comps that are easy (BTW 250 is considered one of the easiest, I took RHET 233 and it wasn't hard), you can just do that.
