Alright sorry if this is in the wrong spot.. I've read on here for awhile but never post. I am finishing up my sophomore year right now and finished o chem. My gpa is 3.3 and science is 3.2. I have not taken the DAT yet but lets assume I get an average score. I realize these are not good scores at all and I need to work really hard next year. My state of residency is Ohio and I do not like my chances at OSU or Case. How much better of grades do you have to have to get into an out of state school? Do I even have a chance? I've been looking at louisville especially. Please help me out I pretty worried about this whole situation. Is there anything I can do?

You'll have a decent chance with 21+, any less is iffy. If you get an "average" DAT of 19, your chances are slim. If you don't get a high enough DAT and don't get in the first time, get a Masters with a 3.8-4.0 and you'll be alright.

try to push your gpa up to about 3.4-3.5. of course other parts of the application will be important, such as personal statement, letter of recs, volunteer/shadowing, extracurriculars. if you get an average dat score with ~3.5 gpa, this is pretty good. that's about the scores of students that get accepted today. obviously it'll be more competitive when you apply but with grades of 3.4 and 19 dats and having the rest of your application solid, it'll be hard to deny you. don't stress so much on trying to get to a 3.7. of course it'll be great, but even people below the average get in. if the average is 3.5, that means 3.9 and 3.1 people get in too. also, apply to a lot of schools. the more, the better your chances are. all the schools are great anyways and you won't be disappointed. good luck!

if the average is 3.5, that means 3.9 and 3.1 people get in too.

Yeah, 3.9's with 18 DATs, and 3.1's with 22 DATs and/or URM status. 3.4 and 19 DAT and you'll have a chance, yes, but you won't feel safe with those stats. Definitely aim for higher than that.

If you set goals less than perfect then you will achieve just that. Destroy yourself to get a 30 and tell yourself that anything less than that is your personal death. If you have that mindset then you will work hard enough to overshadow your GPA. With that said, I would say you need a 22 AA/TS to be stable when applying.

I had the same stats and ended up having to get a masters. Help yourself out now and get that GPA as high as possible before you apply and try to save yourself from the extra time and money spent. 20+ will probably be needed on the DAT too.
