So, I failed out of my PhD program a couple years ago (was depressed, didn't get help and spiraled), and afterwards I worked a research job and got a first author pub.
I'm currently considering a post-bac. I was going to do a Masters in a science/data analysis field so I have career prospects in case I'm too irredeemable/can't do med school due to family responsibilities later on, but do you guys have other suggestions? Opinions? I'm assuming I should stay away from the for-profit type of universities and do a science related post-bac, and I've also been advised against online courses, but otherwise I'm not sure on what to do.

30 credits of upper level science courses at a local state university is usually the best option. Think virology, genomics, immunology, toxicology etc.
