hey all - i've read a lot of suggestions to get either th ekaplan videos or high yield neuroanatomy to study neuroanatomy. i wanted to know what a good way to study all of neuro and psych is. Would just studying FA and high yield neuro be enough? should i do BRS phys for neuro?

There was almost nothing on my exam within neuro/psych that wasn't covered by FA. The only exception was a simple brainstem cross-section, but you didn't have to identify any structures - just had to know which areas had which general functions and which arterial supplies.

If you're weak in neuro I'd recommend going through kaplan (would take a couple dedicated days, maybe less if you're motivated). It's systematic and will give you the foundation to approach everything else. FA neuro is just like FA for everything else--a study guide at best, and out of context it's hard to digest. But if you're already solid on the neuro basics then no need to use kaplan IMO. I didn't like HY neuro; I'm not sure why everyone recommends it, but it's got a lot of info that I have yet to see come up on any of my 1200 UW questions. BRS physio neuro has some info that kaplan doesn't. definitely worth reading as well, but I still recommend kaplan overall

Edit: oh yeah I remember why everyone likes HY neuro: all the brain scans with labels. I'd agree it's worth putting down $5-10 for a used copy to see those pages.

I hope this is helpful for you. I personally liked High Yield best. GOOD LUCK!!!!
