I'm an IMG trying to study for CK. I took step1 in September and forgot most of neuroanatomy. Will the test braistem lesions? Will I have to define the level of a lesion based on symptoms? Do I need to review cranial nerves? Spinal pathways? Please, say No...

I'm studying for CK right now and I've done all the neuro questions on UW. You will be tested on brainstem lesions, tracts, Cranial nerves etc etc. You will have to know all the visual tracts (optic tracts, chiasm, right/left hemianopsia etc), cranial nerves(corneal reflexes, ptosis, pupillary reflexes), those "you stroke the left cornea with cotton, there is a reflex on the left, but not on the right. Where is the lesion?" type questions, brown sequard, sensory/motor deficits, anterior cerebral/middle cerebral lesions, different types of strokes, CT/MRIs, different tests...cerebellar test, hearing tests (conductive vs sensorineural hearing loss), brain tumors and there signs/symtoms etc etc etc.

So yes, you will see all of it again while studying for CK. But don't worry too much. I hadn't looked up neuro at all since Step 1 either, but things will comes back to you when doing the questions. The UW explanations are great. If you do the questions twice, you should be fine.

I would focus on the basics of neuro. at most you might get 1-2 questions a block. stick with whats in First aid for instance and forget the rest. ther eis much more high yield stuff than memorizing neuroanatomy. Remeber its CLINICAL knowledge
