ran into this on the freida website. read that it is a 7 year program and there are three accredited programs in the country. anyone know the details of this type of residency?

Are these integrated programs? Where are they?

according to freida it looks like they are integrated programs and are located at hopkins, NYU and cleveland clinic.

There were initially four programs offering this track in 1999. Two of them then quit because their residents would drop out and go into radiology. Also they realized that although these programs sound like a good idea at first, the reality is that most people will end up doing mostly neurology or mostly neuroradiology and not the other. Hopkins just recently joined the club and is trying it out. I don't know how this whole thing will pan out. So far, it hasn't been that successful at all.

I emailed the Cleveland Clinic about this a few months ago and they said the program is on hold currently, but they would contact me if they decide they wanted to accept new students into the program. Looks like this whole concept is dying out, unfortunately.

University of Wisconsin had such a program, but all three of the previous matriculants to the program have since switched to just diagnostic radiology. This, combined with lack of interest caused them to drop the program.
