Doing our best to keep this off the topic of politics and if Obama's healthcare plan is 'right' or 'wrong', I wanted to start a discussion in relation to the role and pay of PT's in the grand scheme of the nationwide health care proposal...

What i've been told is that Obama is trying to cut something like 330 trillion dollars from Medicare in his 10 year plan. Currently, a physical therapy clinic will have 18 treatments covered by Medicare and then you can apply for medical necessity and get up to 44 treatments covered. Next year, they are gonna set the cap at 14 treatments covered by medicare. Which basically means as soon as a patient starts getting better thanks to PT they are gonna be heading out the door unles they pay out of pocket. I guess this is more important for those PTs with their own practices?
