  1. Pre-Dental
hey guys i just signed up on here and been doing a lot of reading.. there seems to be a lot of people that are going or have gone through all this so i just wanted to ask and get some opinions on where i stand in terms of hopefully being accepted somewhere..

basically...

3.0 overall gpa
3.76 science gpa
22,23 DAT
good letters of rec
100+ hrs lab research
200-300hrs community service
work in a dental office (parents)

my problem is my low overall gpa, i have a feeling my first few years of college keep haunting me.. i transfered into a UC from a community college with a 2.23 gpa of all lower division general ed classes but shot up to a 3.68gpa semester of all science my first semester at the UC and have been consistent with that, i actually just finished a 4.0 semester and plan to repeat that with the few remaining classes i have left. i plan to apply soon but feel like im not really in a good position right now.. what do you guys think? i dont really know what the "competitive" range is.. but i feel like im not in it.

thanks.

thanks.. im planning to get in one way or another but i mostly want to figure out on whether im probably going to have to do a post-bacc or not.. or if my stats are good enough to maybe have a shot the first time around.

I think you should have a good chance. I would think having a near 3.7 sGPA will easily make up for a 3.0 oGPA. I would say the science is much more critical. Your DAT scores and extracurricular are also very good.

Apply to Temple!
