I was wondering if there are going to be any new med schools opening up for an inaugural class of 2014.
If so will they be available to submit the primary to day 1 or will it be later in the application process like UC Riverside.

Honestly, I would do my best to avoid applying to/attending one of the newest schools because our increase in American medical students is so strongly outpacing the growth (or lack thereof) in residency slots that students at new programs are likely to face many of the same barriers DO students have faced in applying to ACGME programs (without the backup of having dedicated -- or as of 2016, strongly DO-favoring -- residency programs). There are certainly some exceptions but the general trend is that older schools have more prestige and the youngest schools are viewed as more risky to take students from. Since we are likely to have an outright surplus of American medical grads applying to residency spots (i.e., not enough spots for all the AMGs), this could mean that many students at unestablished schools have great difficult matching in about 3-5 yrs. Hopefully, this will be avoided, but I would recommend going worst-case scenario on this and avoiding the problem altogether if at all possible.
