What I'm saying is don't try and game the system. Be honest with the program director you're interviewing with and ask them what they think will be best. At the end of the day, if they want you in their program, they will find a way to get you. If fewer people apply for the pilot program, then it is possible you would have a better chance. But no guarantees.Thanks for the reply. So you don't believe that by applying to the "pilot" program it would increase the odds of you getting matched? In comparison to the regular staight through application? Since I'm Navy, I keep hearing for GS its like 50/50 for surgery residency vs gmo, so I was wondering if the pilot would be less competitive since its more gmo years. I woudn't mind a couple extra FS/GMO years if it at least meant I would have PGY2 secured.
