Hey everyone! I'm writing this to let you know about the new Quizlet learn feature. Basically quizlet's new feature gives you the option of having long term reminders for reviewing cards and setting a deadline! This feature has allowed me to ace my exam last week and honestly it proved to be so much better than normal long term apps like anki. Basically, you make your flashcards, set a deadline and start studying. The app will keep on giving you the cards it thinks you're week at until your progress in the cards reaches 100% by the day of the deadline you have set. Amazing.

For those of you who don't really go through the cards and have no time for making them (like me) and study from lecture notes, I have recently implemented a method that cuts the time consumed in making flashcards to almost 0 and yet takes advantage of the long term feature in apps like anki and quizlet. What I do is, I only write the questions in the flashcards and in the answer I write down the number of the page that has the answer from my lecture notes. This method has really helped me since all I do is let's say have the pathology notes next to me and go through the questions on the app and check the notes for my answers using the page number written in the card. Eventually, I no longer need the notes and can go through my cards without looking back at my notes. I don't know if that will work with any of you but it definitely did with me since my college lecture notes are per subject. If you have time for making the cards properly then it's obviously better to make them. I usually don't have the time for making them and always realize that half of my time spent studying was in copying the answers from my lecture notes to make cards.

Hope I was helpful!

how is this different than anki?

Couldn't you just write the question on anki and put the page/slide numbers on the answer side of the card? (The sad part is that it took me several weeks of using anki to realize this)

It's actually very different. Quizlet does have the long term function which is basically very similar to anki. However the new Quizlet "learn" feature allows you to set a deadline on the app for when you want to master the cards. To me that is a lot better because when comparing Quizlet's own long term function and the new learn function I can easily tell that I'm progressing a lot faster with the new learn function as it basically burries the cards it thinks you mastered and sometimes would keep on showing a card that you amswered correctly multiple times because it thinks you can forget it by tomorrow.

You can read a simple article about how it works here

Yes that's exactly what I do! So much less time consuming. The best part is that each card takes me like 3 times of studying then I no longer need to check the page or slide. It sticks in my brain.

Why reinvent the wheel? Anki literally craps on the flash card game. No other company compares, period.

Was just my opinion about a new feature that I found to be more helpful after actually using anki for more than a year. Thing is I have an iphone and Anki is for 24.99$ compared to Quizlet which is free. So yeah

Ya, well last I checked Quizlet had a premium service it does charge for. Either way, Anki is a tried and proven method for long term retention. I'll pay double to retain the information.

1.
1. I would refrain from using your real name as a username.
2. This sounds like an advertisement.

1. This is not my real name

2. Since when does giving your review on something that worked well for considered an advertisement?

Lol why do you make me feel like I told you anki is a ****ty app?

1. Good.
2. Your joined yesterday and your first post was a "review".

Well just so you know the reason I did this is because I read many threads here on reviews on different flashcard apps. Not because I thought of telling everyone about the new feature means I work for them. Lmao

I am not offended, it seems as you are though. I just gave my impression of the post. Just like you gave your review of the product.

Lol for a "review," you're really quite emotional about defending your "review." When I invent something I hope I can have customers like you. Also, interesting choice of a username if it isn't in fact your name.
