Is it just me or does MSU's oos tuition seem a little pricey?😱

Are MSU OOS Students paying that tuition for all 4 years?

Yes. However it's heavily funded by the state of Michigan so there are obvious vested interests. They want graduates to stick around and IS students are far more likely to do so. I wouldn't go there OOS unless covered by the HPSP or rich family (the administration will tell you the same).

yes u pay OOS tuition the entire 4 yrs...but I was told if you stay in michigan for residency and declare urself a resident of michigan they will refund u the difference in tuition

It is outrageous!! My secondary is due in two weeks and I don't think I will turn it in because no matter how good a school is...to me it is not worth twice the price.

Edit: And from what I have researched, if you stay in Michigan for residency then they only refund you one year OOS tuition to the IS tuition level. So for your 4th year you would basically pay in-state tuition. Not much incentive if you ask me. But I do hear there are a few OOS scholarships they give out but I am not sure the details of those.

All 4 years? yikes...

I absolutely love CCOM but honestly the price scares the **** out of me.

That is the school that I wanted to attend and it tore me up but I could not justify spending about twice as much for tuition. But so far i could not be happier with my decision and feel great about not burying myself under a mountain of debt.

I really hope I can get into TCOM when I apply next cycle, thank god I'm a TX resident.

Yeah when I interviewed at AZCOM last year the cost of attendance was in the 80-90k range per year. Its a nice campus and all, but no thanks.

lol hopefully ill get the HPSP if I end up getting into AZCOM!

i'll take an attendance policy and dress code and sub 30k tuition. thanks LECOM.
... 80k/yr for MSU OOS... my god. ~half million borrowed (adding in living costs above and beyond tuition.)

And the interest will double or triple that amount.

Texas residents are super lucky with that tuition!! 12,000 is 1/4 of a year's tuition at some schools

Same here. 50k just for tuition is a lot.

oh boy..and I thought only Caribbean schools are 50K+.

MSU supposedly has a $20K subsidy for Canadian applicants - even with that, it's still almost $60K/yr. might wanna look into bankruptcy policies..just saying.

You can't bankrupt away student loans, lol.

Tuition like that makes me really hope I can get into my state school.

At least DO beats the financial crapshoot of an international route (Carib/Australia/NZ/UK/Ireland/timbuktu whatever). You may not get ROADs but you have a good shot at pretty much everything else.

Take a chill pill, guys.

Yikes! Thanks for posting the tuition hikes for everyone.

well...50K x 4 = 200K
Ross & AUC (both in the Carib) --> 17K (avg of the different costs over the semesters)/semester X 10 semesters = 170K.

200K> 170K

B/c caribbean schools are compressed into 10 semesters (3 years + 1 semester), there will be less living expenses too.

just to take the situation to another context. Tuition at Harvard med = $47K/year

I had made a snarky comment and then thought twice about it. So I edited it to something extremely useless instead.
