Hi all,

Just wondering if you think it is too late to begin my primary app for DO right now. I am not too familiar with the AACOMAS cycle that is why I am asking. Also, anyone have a list of schools that do not require a LOR from a DO. Thanks!

Looking at your gpa and mcat score, you might still have a chance at some schools but I am not sure since I am a first time applicant too. I attached the list for LORs. Good Luck! 👍

Hi all,

Just wondering if you think it is too late to begin my primary app for DO right now, I have a 3.66/30R if it matters. I am not too familiar with the AACOMAS cycle that is why I am asking. Also, anyone have a list of schools that do not require a LOR from a DO. Thanks!

you could still get a DO LOR, email/call a bunch of DOs in the area and ask if you can shadow them. I got one after only shadowing someone for 2 afternoons. I made sure to ask a ton of questions about being a DO when there was down time, that way they could say I was interested when writing the letter. I don't think the LOR has to be particularly strong, I think they just want to make sure you've talked to DOs and are were interested enough to shadow one.

I can't remember if you indicate who your LOR writers are in the primary app, but if not then you have time while that is being verified. I'm pretty sure most of the secondaries ask you who are your letter writers anyways.
