Hi all,
PGY-1 starting a general surgery residency in a few months. I've been chatting with a recruiter about some of the benefits of commissioning as an officer in the National Guard and taking STRAP with the possibility of HPLRP. Does anyone have an experience in the guard as a resident? I'm really trying to get a gauge of how feasible the drill requirements are with a residents schedule. I've read that commanders can be flexible and help work around residency work schedules. Was looking for any feedback from someone who has been in, or is currently in, the situation.
