So how did the UCLA interview go? How long ago was it and when do you expect to hear back? I'm interviewing there next week and the whole day seems incredibly unstructured and poorly planned. On the cover page it says: "We are also currently in the process of arranging an informal interview with a medical student and/or a tour of the medical facilities." Huh?!? "and/or"??
My interview was Feb 6th, and they said don't worry if you don't hear "for a while"...guess they are taking a ride on the slacker train...
I felt the same way about the letter when i got it. This is the strange part...I did get one of the "informal interview(s) with a medical student" but only two applicants, out of the 10 that were there that day, had this student interview. And even worse, i found the student interview very negative. I am not kidding when i say it was only 15 minutes, and she only asked me like 2 questions.(all other interviews i had were 1.5-2 hours long...i'm kind-of a chatterbox i guess) It wasn't negative, as in she didn't like me, it just seemed like she wanted to beat traffic or something, and i was her last interview of the day. (but in reality she couldn't have had that many because like i said only 2 people interviewed with her) Bottom line was that if you don't get this student interview, don't worry about it.
On a side note, my faculty interview went great, and I got really positive vibes. UCLA is a fabulous school, and it sells itself. Because of that i don't feel like the students felt the need to tell you why you should go there. They know that if you get the chance UCLA is the place to go.
Don't worry about your interview, though, it is a laid back and relaxed day. Once you get to the school, all will be revealed. Get there a little early and check out the school for yourself...especially if you have never been to UCLA...it is a complex!
Have fun, and good luck...i'm sure you will be great, and will soon be out of this club for good.
