Apart from the pre-health committee letter packet, none of the other healthcare professionals who I asked for a letter of recommendation wrote me the letter yet.

1) I shadowed a neurosurgeon (someone who I'd shadowed on and off since High School) who was nice enough to give me his cell number and said it was okay if I contact him on there.

2) The nurse who agreed to send in her letter by April 15th did not follow through as of yet. My mistake for not giving a constant follow up. This one mattered the most because I volunteered on her floor where she was the head nurse, and I did everything from patient transport, food delivery, blood sample transfer, etc. It would help me so much!!! I reached out to her just now.

The primaries are going to be processed starting on the 29th. Would it hurt if I sent in some letters shortly after that?

PLEASE HELP!!!!

You only need a committee letter.

I just don't have the pre-health letter of recommendation, they said my GPA was too low, but I am doing things in my gap year to boost things up. I realize most think this is a stupid idea, but it's fine. All my other professors have gotten in their letters of recommendations....but to evidence my clinical work I thought it'd be important to get their letters of recommendations.

If I did want to get them in however, could I still send them in after the 29th?

The 29th of June?! Why would that not be okay? You should look at section 6 of the AMCAS app and at individual school deadlines for further clarity.

Oh, and those letters are not important. Gyngyn just told you that.

Letters generally only come into play after the secondaries are received, if not later. As long as you have your primary set (ie 2 science + 1 non-science) in place you're fine at most schools and can send the additional ones as they become available.

PS I got rejected by my pre-med committee too. Have to have a 3.7+ GPA, do all the pre-reqs on campus during the normal semesters, etc. They like to boast that they have a 95%+ acceptance rate to all the doe-eyed high school students.

My committee letter wasnt received until end of July. It didn’t impact me at all.

My first II came less than three weeks later
