After submitting AMCAS early and getting secondaries all in before August, when should one start worrying if he/she doesn't have any interview invites yet? At the end of August? End of September?

It's really a crapshoot. I know friends from last year that submitted in July but didn't receive interview invites until March. It all depends on your stats and overall strength of application. I wouldn't freak about not getting IIs until January or February.

More like end of December. Relax. This process is a marathon. I'd say if you have no or very few interview invites by Christmas then you should start contemplating backup plans at New Year's (although even at that point, there's still plenty of time for things to happen).

I would start getting worried if you dont have anything by the end of December, since IIs sent out after then are pretty sparse. Most people going on interviews in Jan/Feb prob had them scheduled a few months before.

Basically, to answer your direct question, don't worry if August and September pass you by without any news -- that's not at all unusual.

Assuming you're still doing all your necessary EC's/w.e to continue improving your app and making it more competitive, really you only have to really worry once you start getting to Feb/March. If one of your other options is doing an SMP or something, I would just apply to those as if you were planning on no acceptances, if you get lucky and get ii/accepted early then go ahead and stop with that.

I had the exact same question. Every weekday, I check my email like every 10 minutes thinking that today is definitely going to be the day I get an II. And naturally, every day 5PM rolls around on the west coast and I get disappointed and worried, even though that's ridiculous in July.

I'm glad to read this thread. However, your precious "logic" and "reason" is no match for my neurotic pre-med worrying...

I'm already worried/anxious for not having any IIs... xD

I would say that if you don't have an II in November, it's time to find something cool to update schools about.
