Take heart!

With 22 schools, and rejections from only 3, you really have a ways to go.

In all honesty, however, I wouldn't worry. Your GPA, while not ideal, is far from poor. As much as colleges try to be the same, the fact is that your undergrad GPA does not necessarily determine your success in dental school, and d-schools are aware of this.

you did well on your DAT, and may I state again that you applied to 22 friggin schools? They said it, and I'll say it. You'll get in somewhere. Just keep the faith and try to keep yourself busy in the meanwhile.

Yes, it's agony. But you get through it. When you get the letter saying you have an interview, this will all be a good story to tell.

Of the schools that are left on my list I really wish to get a positive feedback from:

1. UOP...At this point, you probably don't have a good shot at UoP. They don't give out many interviews & they fill up their class FAST. So, chances of getting a meaningful interview (something that will get you in rather than putting you on the waitlist) after Decermber are rather slim.
2. NYU...I think you have a decent chance at NYU. I'm going there this upcoming Friday (11/20). If I find out anything about how many more rounds of interviews they'll be sending out, I'll keep you posted.
3. Detroit
4. Western...It would be odd if these people won't grant you an interview, considering your stats. However, this year, since they received a large number of applications, their review process is lagging. So, you'll probably hear from them later on.
5.USC...Not out of reach.
6.Meharry
7. Boston Univ.
8. Temple...I cancelled my interview here, so one more space for you😉

Can you please be frank and tell me which of these I am being completely unrealistic about and why. I ask this so that when i hear something from them I sorta expect it and not shocked -- badly.

Afcourse, UCSF and UCLA would be a dream come true but I am being realistic and "hoping for the best" but i know those schools might me out of my league. I still applied-- just out of hope.

Keep in mind, even if you don't get in this year, it won't be the end of your life. My uncle is a very successful surgeon, but he had to apply 3 times, before he got into med school. So, just because schools have rejected you it doesn't mean that you're not gonna have a future in dentistry. It simply means the path to get there might not be as straight forward as you wished for.

Stay positive and don't stress out too much. There are high roads and low roads in life, and that's what makes life interesting!

1-My cousin teaches at that school, and she told me the area is very rough! If I decide to move all the way to East Coast and go that far, I'm not gonna do it to live/go to school in a crappy area.

2-I had interviews in 4 other schools (UNLV, USC, NOVA, and NYU) which are more ideal choices for me compared to Temple. I figured I'm gonna end up going to one of these schools, so there was really no reason to spend another 300-400$ to fly there and interview at a school I'm not interested in going to (I used Temple as a backup, in case I didn't get any other interviews).

3-I spoke to their admission coordinator (Brian if I remember correctly) and he was super rude over the phone and not willing to help me at all (Admission coordinators at other schools have been the exact opposite; super nice and helpful). I figured if the school picks someone as rude as him to represent their school, then I don't wanna spend 4 years in that place.

Temple is actually a very impressive school i liked it ALOT, it was one of my top choices(and i didnt think it wouldve been before i went there, felt almost the same as you!)...

I'm sure that's true! It's just not the kinda place I see myself spending the next 4 years of my life.
