ok this is the second thread i saw about schools being donwe or nearly done with interview invites. Previously i had heard that interviews went thru March; are most of those invites out by now too? what other schools (besides Emory) are done with their invites?

lol, I was thinking the same thing when I looked at my post.

Jan 28th is the last day that interviews will be conducted at NYU and Upenn.

NYU isn't giving out anymore invites and UPenn said maybe just a few more.

I think the OP is making it up and playing on everyone's paranoia. Most schools interview into march and will thus be sending out invite letters at least through this month...

Well, excuse me. Do you think I have nothing better to do?? I'm trying to be helpful and share what I learned because I've found this website really helpful to me. If you don't believe me, you can call the admission office yourself. But don't go around accusing me of making stuff up.

It may have to do with the fact that this is the first year NYU was on the AMCAS, so there were probably a much larger applicant pool

I have no idea whether you have anything better to do. If your info is accurate, I apologize. However the addition of a definite January date as to when Penn will be done interviewing, which conflicts with the info provided by other posters in other threads, certainly makes your info suspect... We will find out how accurate your info was in a couple of weeks... I can wait.

I called both places today and that is exactly what they told me. I really don't care if anyone believes me or not. next time I'll just keep it to myself instead of trying to be nice.

I hate that the school gives conflicting info. I called NYU a day or two ago about my status for regular MD and the lady told me that I should expect to hear about an interview in early February. Maybe this was her way of letting me down easy. Who knows?

Its not my fault they give out conflicting info. All I'm saying is that you shouldn't accuse people of things that you don't know of for sure. especially if you look at my posts, everyone can see that I don't just "make stuff up" to cause trouble. whatever. just forget it.

There's a serious flaw in your guys arguments. It might be BOTH true that they are interviewing into late January and they aren't giving any more interview invites. It is possible that they are just wrapping up the ones they have already sent out this month, but are not sending out anymore NEW invites. I told her that I've been complete since august, etc. and she just said that they already sent out all the invites they were going to send so I probably wouldn't be getting one. I hope she was wrong. did the person you speak to actually look you up and say that they were going to invite you?

Actually, if you read my posts my understanding, in conflict to the info of the OP, was that they were still giving out interviews well into January and actually interviewing beyond January.

i called upenn on friday and they said that they're interviewing until the end of feb..........i'll call again tomorrow...........i thought they were non rolling and so would be a bit slower, but i guess im done at that school 🙄 😡 😡 😡 i hate this

I don't know the OP or anyone else on this board from a hole in the wall. I'm hardly questioning anyone's character. There is a lot of bad info on this board, and you can see from all the banned screen names/trolls about that clearly there are a lot of people who have nothing better to do than come on here and make things up. We will find out in a couple of weeks if this was more of the same. It seems you have issues with lawyers, so I won't take your comments personally. thanks, I have gotten a few acceptances, so I'm definitely grateful for that. but I'm still waiting on a lot of schools too. I was at least hoping for an interview from nyu, but this process is really random! good luck

I can't speak for NYU, but when I called Penn I was told that all interview invitations would be issued by mid-January. The actual interviews might be scheduled in Feburary, but the invitations are nearly finished.

one of my friends friend had applied to NYU...and when he called for a interview they said that they were NOT sending any more interview invites. They are scheduling just the ones that they have. i dont know about U penn though.

fyi...my friend friend called friday or thursday..i dont remember.

I hope I just get my rejection letter from NYU soon then, to close this chapter. Expecting the same from MSSM and Cornell. I wish these schools would be more considerate - once they've decided they're not going to interview you, how hard is it to send a damn letter?

Here here...its bad enough they took two months to send my "you are complete" email...I bet they didn't even review my file...

Wow, weren't you the guy who told everyone to calm down about 1/2 a page above this. Anyway, I agree. I was actually thinking about calling northwestern and asking if they have reviewed my file NOW (I was complete in august and every time I call they say my file hasn't been reviewed yet). If they say no, I was going withdraw and DEMAND (!!!) my money back. I know it won't work but its **** that they took my 60 or so dollars simply to stuff my application in a file and let it collect dust.

yah man, i feel so used b.c i spent alot of time on some of these secondaries, not to mention 4 years of hard work to at the least get looked at. Im gonna do this sometime in the next days with northwestern; let me know how it works for you.

Comments like that might be why you didn't get an invite j/k.

I was surprised to hear that Jan is the last month students will be giving out tours. So it makes sense there won't be anymore invites. I believe NYU interviewed past January last year so thus the confusion at the admissions office.

they probably reviewed your app and went "**** this piece of **** for thinking he can handle our school. **** him! who the **** does he think he is giving us money when he's not even ****in' good enough to go here?!"

They didnt even review my file, and they stopped giving out invites. There are no better grounds for refund than this, and no better grounds to be angry. I have real competative #'s, excellent pers stat, stellar research and ec's. I see no reason i should not have even been looked at. Granted i applied a bit late, but there is a deadline for a reason; it shouldn't be simply rhetoric

I just checked your profile and it was pretty darn impressive. i am SHOCKED you didn't at least get invites from some of those schools..and an early rejection from Northwestern..?? what's with that? maybe they looked at it.. what makes you think they didn't? when they said you were "under review" you probably were looked at and they might have decided not to give you an interview and you might simply have been in that last group that was reviewed.

right, i think all files have been or will be looked at...not saying they spent much time on most but I believe they gave you at least 3 minutes for your $60

Frankly, I really wasn't shocked. My stats are nothing but average as far as I'm concerned for those 3 schools I mentioned. Northwestern didn't really surprise me either. And the letter was "lovely" just because it was the first one I received....I was being a little sarcastic there.

Hey wends (and others) don't give up on Upenn just yet! I just got an invite from them after being complete in early october. The date I chose was 2/4- not sure what the latest date was but that was the latest i had to choose from out of 3 dates. I did send them an update letter mid-december along with a CV so maybe that helped.

i sent them an udate letter too, and they've received it last week and i was told it was sent to my screener, so hope it helps......when did you get the invite? they stop giving out invites at the end of next week
