I haven't received any rejection letters yet, but I haven't had any interviews either. I know this isn't looking good, but do you think there still is any hope for me?

hmmmm maybe some more hope depending on which schools you're applying to. Did you contact the schools to find out the status of your file? When did you apply?

I applied to ICO, PCO, and NECO. My GPA is 3.38 which I imagine would be ok, but my OAT score is definetly not helping. I have a AA and TS of 290. I've seen other people get accepted with a 280 or 290, but lately I've been reading posts of people getting waitlisted with 310 and 320.

When I call the schools they basically just tell me that my application is still under review. I've written a couple letters to the admissions committee and to the deans, trying to plead my case I guess you could say, but I'm not sure if it's helping or not.

As for Pacfic, I've read the forum posts that they are pretty much done..and I emailed their admissions office and they said that my file was "still under review" so I have no clue what's up with that? 😕

Don't give up hope, I mean I thought ICO was done as well since they said that there interviews are scheduled through Sept to April 😱

When did you apply? Because I applied SUPER late in the cyle - which I totally regret because I feel like i am walking on eggshells right now

Oh, well 340 is probably good enough to get an interview at a lot of schools. I applied early...real early, like the first week that it was possible to apply. What really screwed me up was that I got a low score in the quantitative reasoning. Even 20 points higher in that section and I would have been over 300 at least.

WOW that's odd that you haven't heard ANYTHING from chicago - did they ask you to send in your secondary application? usually you are to hear 3-4 weeks back from them after your preliminary appl was the impression i got. and it looks like it's been months for you. I would definately try to call them and let them know that it's been WAYYY too long for u to hear back and you want to know the status of your application. I thin kthey say somewhere on their site that if you aren't contact within 4 weeks afte the prelim appl, then it's okay for you to contact them?

The thing is that I don't know if opt. schools will actually tell you if you're rejected or if by having them not contact you, it means you weren't chosen?

You just have to stay on top of them.

I recall that I applied to three schools though I only really wanted to go to one. I as admitted to the one I wanted and one of the other two. I accepted where I wanted to go, declined the other acceptance and never heard back from the third school.

I never did hear from them but since I was going where I wanted to go, I never followed up on it.

At the very end of my first year of optometry school I got a letter in the mail:

Dear Sir,

We regret to inform you what we cannot offer you admission at this time.

LMAO!!

So just stay on top of them.

"Stay on top of them," is the best advice anyone can give. Alot of the schools do have a majority of their entering class accounted for, but still are telling applicants that their application is still under review. The same is the case for one of my friends. He applied super early with me, and has yet to hear anything, besides retake his OAT. He did that and still no real progress. At one of the schools he was told, to stay positive, because he wasn't rejected yet, so their still must be a chance. Besides one must keep in mind, a class may be full, but that doesn't mean everyone in the class has paid all of their deposit to permanently secure their spot. SO many schools may not know until late in the summer if they can offer more applicants a seat. So stay encouraged, and on top of admissions, and pray that all of those people that haven't declined their seat at multiple schools will do so, so admissions can fill teh seats with people who want to go to their school 🙂

He didn't break 300 the first time and when he retook it he made a 310 or 320.

Yeah you should stay on top of them. Last summer UHCO sent me a letter saying that they need my final transcript by a certain date or I wouldn't be accepted. Which confused me because I hadn't interviewed with them, but I haven't heard anything one way or another. Then it took 4 phone calls before I got them to tell me what was going on, it turns out it was a mistake and that I wasn't accepted.

My friend who applied in October and had yet to be asked an interview, finally received a response from UHCO. Unfortunately it wasn't exactly what he wanted to read 🙁 He is stll waiting to hear from one more school, I wish him and everyone else who is waiting GOOD LUCK

Hey ya'll, i got an interview at ICO, SCO , and OSU with a 3pt and 330 oat so dont lose all hope- i haven't yet! I withdrew applicatoin from ICO, am waitlisted at SCO and jsut interviewed at OSU.

What do you mean you withdrew your application from ICO? Do you mean you decided not to go there?
