I did a search but couldn't really sift through all of the shadowing related threads to find an answer to this particular question.

Basically, I am currently at home over the summer and I have tried over the past several weeks (and failed) to find a DO to shadow here. I have, however, found a DO who was nice enough to let me shadow him back in the city where I go to school. Is it possible for me to still submit my AACOMAS application today, even without shadowing and a LOR? Or must I have already completed my shadowing at the time of submission?

I made an appointment to shadow a nephrologist a month from now, but I'm not sure if this will hurt my application in any way. I would like to get my application in as soon as possible, but I'm wondering if not being able to talk about my shadowing experience on the primary will go against me.

Thanks for all your help.

You only need to submit your LOR when you submit your secondaries, so you should submit your primary now.

Thanks for the reply.

So it's fine for me to submit my primary without even listing shadowing as an EC?

yes, you should send them an update when you do have the experience tho. But you can submit without shadowing, of course.
