I was searching old posts and there was no definative answer, some people said it's fine to wear a watch while others said no. Then it was no digitial watches only analog. Then some said it depends on the testing centers some don't care, which doesn't make sense because the rules should be the same everywhere. I couldn't find the answer on the AAMC site, so then I called them and they said 'no watches'. So there is my answer I realize, but I've heard of people still wearing them during the test and noone cares?

The reason I ask is because I have my verbal timed perfectly and I know there is a timer on screen but I strongly prefer to see my watch because I make sure I don't go above 8.5 minutes, then if it takes less or more I'll know (ex: it took 30 seconds less so I have an extra 30 seconds for another passage etc). This is a bit of a hassle and not as accurate if I'm using the onscreen timer.

No watches.

Furthermore, there are cameras above every single desk (and mics). Do you really want to run the risk of having your video reviewed and have your scores cancelled?

What? That is a bit extreme. I feel bad for the future generation of mcat'ers who will have even stricter conditions: each user seperated into a seperate tightly guarded room where you must take the test completely naked. Not only that, they give you a full body cavity search before and after the test (as well as one 'Surprize Search' they randomly do during the test). You must shave all hair off your body (head, eyebrows, etc) because you could be hiding answers in there. Also, absolutely no leaving during the test whether it be to use the bathroom or even to quit. If you decide to get up and leave there will be a sniper who shoots you on the spot if you take more than 3 steps.

Oh come on it won't be that bad. It will be 10 steps, a warning, and then a shot.

At my testing center, we're allowed non-digital watches.

Mine too. Some people in line before ID verification freaked out after hearing "no watches," but the test administrator said that if they're non-digital watches, they're fine.

And yeah, we had a camera video taping every test-taker...

Where were the cameras? I saw a computer monitor with the adminstrators with a lot of camera shots, but it looked to be more from the corners of the room rather than each person. I don't know.

Btw, my test site allowed only analog watches.
