Hi everyone

Just wanted to ask you... I am applying for surgical residency soon and also I have quite impresive foreign surgical expereince. One of the top Universities offering currently an 1-year non-accredited fellowship in CT surgery.
Can some one tell me if worth spending time on 1-year non accredited program? Is there any use of it?

Those might help you get a CT spot at a better program eventually, but in and of themselves don't help you much stateside as they don't give you any accredidation from it. You might be able to some cardiac in underserved areas after if they were desperate for someone not board eligible

These type of fellowship are a solution they came up with to solve man power issue. They can't give you credit cuz it will get them in trouble with ACGME for training too many fellows. Unless, they can primose get you into their general surgeon program on paper. I would respectfully decline such a position.
