Non-APA Accredited Program Question??

What would you say are the disadvantages of going to a Non-APA Accredited PhD program. To be more specific, I'm interested in the Clinical Developmental PhD program at Bryn Mawr College in Pennsylvania but it's not accredited. I called them up to ask why and they said because it is still a small program.

My understanding, but get more than one opinion on this, is that APA accredidation is mreo fo a gurantee that you will get the courses required for liscensure. It's more of a protection for you as the consumer of this education. But, ultimately, you when going up for liscensure your transcript would be reviewed to make sure that you had everything accounted for in terms of courses, regardless of APA accredidation status.

In addition to making your life easier, it's also important to note that several employers will specify that they will only hire a graduate from an APA-accredited program. So you're potentially limiting your employment opportunities as well.
