Hi everyone,
I'm new here, so I hope I'm posting this in the right place. Anyway, I am a psychology major applying to the UCs this semester. I have also been taking some pre med classes here. My question is, would it be okay for me to take non calculus based physics here at my CC, or should I take calculus based at a UC? I would do calculus based here but I did not decide I wanted to do pre med until last year, and I dont have time to take calculus. I already emailed UCRs med school and they said the course are okay, but I wanted to see if anyone else has done this before. Most of the medschools i look at just say "1 year of physics", and they dont specify whether it is calculus based or not. Here are the course descriptions, if anyone is wondering. They're both 4 unit semester classes that include lecture and lab
Algebra- and trigonometry-based study of classical mechanics and thermodynamics. Total of 54 hours lecture and 54 hours laboratory.
Transfer Credit: CSU; UC credit limitations. See counselor. *C-ID: PHYS 105
Algebra- and trigonometry-based study of electricity, magnetism, special relativity, atomic and nuclear physics, and elementary particles. Total of 54 hours lecture and 54 hours laboratory.
Transfer Credit: CSU; UC credit limitations. See counselor.
