Hello everyone,
I'm a clinical Optometrist in Israel, and it is acceptable here that ONLY Ophthalmologists refract children under 8 since Optometrists are not allowed to use Cycloplegia (or any other eyedrop medications) Still However, many Optometrists do check children under 8 (non-cycloplegic)
I was wondering what's your opinions- Do you think it's a must using a Cycloplegic check for children under 8? and what are the THINGS an Optometrist might 'miss' by not doing so (besides overminusing) ?
Thank you very much for your thoughts !
Bernard
