So, I currently attend a liberal arts college with only 10 credits remaining (average per semester is 16 credits) to finish off my last semester of my senior year. My dean told me that I could enroll as a non-matriculating student at my home university (which runs on a quarter system and would need to take 15 quarter credits). I also applied for an internship through my home university which I got at my states children's hospital which is ranked within the top ten children's hospitals in the U.S.
I'm struggling whether to enroll as a non-matriculating student because I'm not sure how medical schools would view this as. I talked to my pre-med advisor and she said that it would be fine but I don't particularly trust her because she has given me a lot of wrong or weird information. Honestly, I've always wanted to attend a large University and attend a school that is co-ed rather than just women. I also feel that because my school is only women, I miss out on the other half of people's opinions (men). The other struggle is that I enroll the day of classes so I'm not sure how things will pan out. I've made a list of back up classes but you never know. Do you think it's worth enrolling as a non-matriculating student and taking the internship vs staying at my liberal arts college?
