Non medical experience in secondary?

My personal statement was about a medical volunteer program I did in Africa for two months, which has greatly influenced my decision to pursue medicine. I was wondering if it would be ok to write about my experience as a tutor or big sister for a secondary that asked, "select an experience and describe in a brief essay how it impacted on your decision to go into medicine. Is it ok to write about something that isnt related directly to medicine?

As long as you can connect it to some aspect of medicine, then why not? It is probably more interesting than just repeating stuff from your PS.
