Hey. My friend is wondering, since the applicant pool for non-participating PharmCAS schools are usually smaller, he was wondering which one of them would offer him a higher chance of being accepted.

His GPA is around 3.1, a little bit of pharmacy experience and plans to take the PCAT this month.

any suggestions on any private schools?

A 3.1 GPA is not bad but it's not great. I would suggest is that your friend re-take some classes to improve his/her GPA.

I don't think these schools have necessarily a less competitive applicant pool. I think Pharmcas just lets people with less than ideal stats apply to multiple institutions.

Your friend should apply to schools where he would be willing to go and work on improving his application. Applying to non-PharmCAS schools is not going to change his situation much, if at all.

After you submit an application using PharmCAS, do you usually have to fill out another application that is specific for each school?

I would agree with Bananaface, I was going to say the exact same thing but I was too tired to type it at the time...
