non-science LOR

I'm starting to ask for LOR for the 2015-2016 application cycle. My question is for the non-science LOR for DO schools. Could my college track coach count as a non-science LOR? I got "credit" (as in satisfactory/ unsatisfactory) for the 4 years I did track.

If you had a significant relationship with this person and if they can speak to your character and achievements, I don't see why you couldn't use them as a letter for DO schools. I personally used 2 science professors and 2 employers, one medically related and one not medically related.

From what I read on the 2015 medical college information book only one school requires a non science letter and it is NSU-COM. Four other schools require 3 letters from faculty 2 of the 3 must be science, so a third science is okay.

Most of the schools I applied to did not require any non science letter, but rather had a minimum of 2 science professor letters. I simply included a nonscience one as the 3rd Or 4th option.

Thanks for the responses, I've already gotten two yes responses for science LOR.
