I'm assuming I am not the only one without medical coverage so figured I can get some advice from those that have gone through similar experiences.
Because of my pursuit of medicine, I can only work about 25 hours a week so I can not afford private coverage for my family (Pregnant wife and a 2 year-old). In addition, my dead beat boss doesn't offer medical insurance. My wife is not a citizen yet so she is ineligible for Medicaid coverage, which leaves us with very little options. Right now she receives prenatal care at a public clinic a couple miles from our house. It's inexpensive (75$ bucks a visit) but she has waited up to 6 hrs to see the doctor. I feel so impotent to do anything, but this is the lot we have been given. I did write all of this into my personal statement, but without a "woe-is-me" feeling. Any advice?
