Non-traditional Couples Match

Does anyone know how Surgery programs feel about 2 people trying to couples match into the same specialty (Gen. Surg.) at the same program? Does it make a difference whether the couple is married or not?

My wife and I matched GS/GS last year without any problems. We married before med school and made a point of painting ourselves as a stable couple. I suspect, with no firm evidence, that unmarried/newlywed couples would be viewed less favorably.

Don't be afraid to go for it - our experience was (and remains) very positive.
