Can someone update me on the affiliation with U of Chicago or Northwestern as of now?

And does Evanston NW still have alot of private patients (private attendings)?

And finally, what makes it so bad as to having to deal with private physicians and their patients? I dont know as I have never had to experience it. Thanks again

Evanston Northwestern is now known as NorthShore University HealthSystem. This is the final year of Northwestern affiliation and Evanston has already aligned itself with the University of Chicago. It will be U of C's main affiliate/secondary site - so it should provide advantages to both parties. U of C medical students and residents will start rotating there next academic year (NU students/residents are still there for this final, transition, year). The IM residency won't really change because it was always based at Evanston/Glenbrook and is separate from the downtown Northwestern program. IM residents will have the opportunity to do elective rotation(s) at U of C. They will also graduate with a U of C diplomma (you currently get a Northwestern one).
