Northwestern University Class of 2007

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Yay manicmaven,

maybe we can walk to school together on the first day. I'd hate to show up alone, looking like a loser....

I'm so psyched, it feels like starting highschool all over again, but this time I'm 25 and not 15 🙂

Sounds like a plan. I'll bring coffee.

I'll be at Northwestern in the fall to finish my undergrad in the evenings. I doubt ill run across any of you, unless perhaps its crossing the street while you are leaving 😉

How r u gonna run across any of us while crossing the street if the undergrad is in evanston and the med skool is downtown?

Hey y'all - So I've decided to go ahead and at least research living in an apartment before settling on the dorms. I just can't imagine squeezing myself into a twin size bed with a plastic mattress. Does anyone know which apartment complexes are more popular? If I am going to be off-campus, I'd at least like to be close to other students. I know of McClurg, Onterie...um, and that's all I can think of off the top of my head. Any suggestions? Thanks!

I did a search on google for Chicago apartments in "Streeterville", that should bring up quite a few larger buildings and smaller apartment complexes...
hope that helps

P.S. I found my apartment without even having to go to Chicago, if you're dealing with a bigger management company and see enough pictures online this may be possible----and it saves a lot of money

Oooh...thanks for the advice. Yeah, I am still working this summer so I don't think that I can get out to Chicago to look around. I am hoping that all of the virtual tours on the web will be enough 🙂

I used www.homestore.com to look up places like Onterie, McClurg, and 420 East Ohio. They usually have a virtual tour of the building or some of the units. If you want any information about my building, let me know. I also visited Onterie, McClurg, Cityfront Place and Galter Carriage House. I might be able to share insights if you are going to try to rent with out going to chicago. Good luck, pm me if you need any info. And YAY for more people living off campus! We'll have to have a little group housewarming party when we've all gotten in to town.
 😀 😀

you should post in our yahoo group...well...i guess you can't bump there...but there are quite a few of our classmates in that group but very few posts. then again...guess there isn't much to talk about since we all haven't met each other yet, huh?

Yeah, I've felt lame because I don't have an AIM, (and 😳 I don't know what it is). I've just been trying to organize my packing lately and figure out my budget. Is anyone else just having a cell phone and no land line? I'm considering this. It feels kind of pointless to have both, when I really only use my cell.

I'm serious about having a get together at my apartment right before orientation for all sdners. More to be filled in on the yahoo groups as August approaches.

Can't wait!

I decided just to get a cell phone. I seems like a waste of money to have both, unless you go over your daytime minutes a lot. AIM is just free aol talk. 🙂 Take Care. Paul

Oh! Funny, I have aol, and didn't know that. I work at a place that has nazi firewalls and can't access my aol account here...and I don't have internet at home. Guess it will be sdn or yahoo group for me until I get to chicago.

Hey y'all, I'm also looking for a running partner this year. I run REALLY REALLY REALLY slowly (you could probably be a walking partner and keep up)...if anyone is into that, pm me. I also lift, and would like a partner for that too at the school gym, and I can actually hold my own in that area. (I used to be a trainer.) I seem to keep up on my exercise schedule if I have someone to help get my ass in gear. hee hee.
