I got a call from Dean Brown on my voicemail today, but am on a week long vacation in Toronto so I missed it.......I will have to call tomorrow to see what its about

i don't post much on this thread, but i have a couple times, and no love for me :-( hope is alive, but barely breathing. i have called my voice-mail (from china, mind you) several times to check for dean brown, but nada.

eh, e-mailed Dean Brown again. there goes nothing though, I suspect. I'll be in Chicago on Wednesday (at NMH, no less), so I think I'll drop off a note in the admissions office.

Stopped in and talked to the secretary Laura (Can I have your A-A-M-C ID number?). She was very nice. Left them a note saying I loved them and I enjoy long walks along Lake Michigan and candlelit dinners at the ESPNzone down the street.

Er, I mean, I told them my wife was interviewing next door, so since they'll probably offer her a job, it'd be awesome to give me a seat in their med school. I felt kinda 😳 just looking at all the med students walking around.

i'm guessing it would be pointless to hazard a guess as to when we can expect this movement... is anyone else accepted at a school they feel perfectly happy about, but haven't really accepted going there as a reality, still clinging to hope from NU? sorry for not explaining that one well, but you know how it is 🙂

Put down a $675 security deposit on an apartment one mile away from MCW. Signing the lease on Monday or Tuesday. I'm not sure if I should bother with another e-mail or just withdraw and sigh.

Damn, when I called today I asked again if there was going to be more movement and she said "yes there will be"....but who knows when that will be.....last year, someone on sdn got in late July...so you never know. Good luck, man.

I can't postpone any longer. Not only that, but I'm tired of the uncertainty. My wife has a job offer from a Milwaukee hospital and Northwestern Memorial, which gave her a week (only four days left) to decide if she'll accept. I'm also really looking forward to decorating a new house (apt), and I want to have time to do it, not during orientation week.

It certainly would not hurt you at this point to contact the school and explain your situation. Why not give them a call tomorrow and ask them what's up? Either way, best of luck to you.

Smooth - called this afternoon (the answering machine said they were in a meeting from 11-12:30, not sure if it related to what followed), and Laura (secretary) said that they got my e-mail, and that Dean Brown "is aware of my situation." I guess that's better than her not knowing who I am, but we'll see....

So now that Prowler is out....I guess I'm the only one left on here....but I was wondering if there have been any "lurkers" that have gotten off the waitlist in the past week.....Laura the secretary said that there had been movement in the past week. Let me know if you were lucky enough to get a call.
