I have NIS for my desktop and I just bought a laptop also. Can I use my NIS on my laptop too, since it is just me (one user) with two machines? Thanks!

Sure, why not? As long as you have the installation cd, you can install it on your laptop.

Most programs allow you to install on one desktop and one portable machine with the stipulation that you can't run both programs at the same time.

Operating systems and many firewall/anti-virus programs do not allow you to install on more than one machine.

If you install it on another machine, you *may* lose the registration information, including the ability to download new virus definitions, on the original computer which the program was installed.
