not doing so good in my retake math class :( Am I screwed?

Hello everyone,


So this semester, being a last semester, I decided to retake 3 courses that I previous got
Cs on in order to improve my GPA.

The 3 coureses that I am retaking are freshmen Bio class, upper BIO500 class, and a math class. For Bio retakes, I am actually doing better at it. For BIO 500 level course, I am currently getting an A.. and should get an A .. and for for freshmen BIo course.. I currently have a B right now.. hopeing to pull up to A ..

The problem is math 🙁

I don't know what I am doing wrong. But I haven't been doing so good in that class.
I go to lectures.. and study for the exam.. Re-do all the hw questions before the exam.. and etc.. but when it comes to the exam.. I just make silly mistakes..and get questions wrong.. So my questions is.. if I happen to get a C again for the second time.. will that really look bad?

I'm planning to apply this upcoming cycle.. and really don't know what to do 🙁

I feel soo stressed and frustrated....please help!!

(Other than the math class.. overall grades in other classes are pretty decent)

I dont think it will be a big issue if your GPAs fall in line with the average GPAs for DO matriculated students (3.46 cGPA and 3.35 sGPA) and you get a 27+ MCAT.

My current cGPA is 3.17 (with upper trend)... I'm projecting that my cGPA should be somewhere between 3.2 - 3.3 after this semester.... should I just postpone my graduation so I can increase my GPA a bit more?

Is that with grade forgiveness? If so then I think you would be better off taking a few more semesters, if not doing a masters, and getting your GPA up. Although.... if you rocked out the MCAT and got a 30 then you might be able to get in now (assuming you're going for D.O.)

Just a guess, but it sounds like you're not getting enough sleep, for one.

Yeah, that's with grade replacement...and yeah.. I'm going for DO

Well math isn't going to bring down your sgpa at all. I have a lot of retakes myself and on a crazy semester. Just don't give up. I'm taking a lot of units right now, so I have some really bad days where I'm just like eff it. When you get to that point, have a beer. Have 3-4. Get some good sleep, then reassess.

good news is math grade won't affect your science gpa at all. If you can rock the MCAT (>30) , your current GPA would work fine as long as you apply broadly and have good amount of ECs.
