i am taking the computerized version of the OAT on oct. 15 and i need to study but i do not have enough time....dont ask me what i did over the summer because i obviously was not studying. anyway, does anyone have any tips for on how to study in such a short time before the test?

also, are you allowed to refund your money and not take the test if youve already signed up for it? thanks!

To my knowledge, you can contact the center where you are scheduled to take the test and reschedule it for a later date. You shouldn't lose any money provided you reschedule more than 48 hours before you are supposed to take it. But, if you just cancel the test... you do lose that money! Best of luck to you!

stop wasting your time on this forum and STUDY!!! you will only do well based on the amount of time you put into your preparation for the exam...if you are not ready, you should postpone the test until you are ready

Hi opthopeful!

I know what you mean..I am scheduled to write oct. 14 and I have just started studying. I am taking a full course load this semester so I will be quite busy. But I believe that I will still manage to study about 30hrs/wk. I figure the next month of my life will be hell, but that in the end it will be worth it.

Good Luck with the studying!

To reschedule, you need to notify Prometric at least 2.5 business days before the day of your test. You can either call in or go to www.2test.com

When I was studying for my oats, i found that the subject tests that kaplan provided were very helpful. Keep doing practice problems if you dont have enough time to go through all the material that is covered. You really need to practice with your timing so you don't run out of time during the real test.

I'm having the same problem, i am thinking about rescheduling it to a later date. The thing that is really bothering me is that I am in the joint degree program with SUNY and so my last year of undergraduate will be fufilled with my first year of optometry, therefore I don't need to take a lot of labs and upper level bio courses (im getting a BA in bio) right now in my junior year. The problem is, what happens if they don't accept me into the program? I am basically screwed because I haven't taken enough bio classes, that means if i get rejected i would have to take all bio classes for the last 2 semesters of my senior year, and hopefully they won't conflict with each other, also what am I going to do with a BA in biology? work in research? getting paid 25k a year?
