Hey guys!
A year ago I got a D in statistics from a community college, I didn't attend full time. I don't want to report it when I apply for medical schools, because it brings down my gpa and I actually got an A school at my actual school?
Is there any way they can find out about it?

Doesn't matter if you didn't attend full time. You must report every institution you have attended. I was on the academic integrity board at my UG and we revoked someone's degree because of something like this.

Yeah, there is. It's called the National Student Clearinghouse http://www.studentclearinghouse.org/
They will use this to verify your attendance at the schools you list, and would immediately find out about any you didn't. Then you would be in violation of AAMC policy and blocked from ever applying to medical school.
Don't do it.

A letter D grade, you can explain. Lying/dishonesty, you can not.
If you get caught lying (which you will), you may lose all chance of med school altogether.

If you want to be a doctor, be complete and accurate in your application. The alternative is not to be a doctor at all and to branded a liar.

If AMCAS decides that your omission was an intentional act, they could ban you from ever applying again. Since AMCAS is the only way to apply to MD schools, if would effectively ban you from ever becoming a doctor. I would also assume that since TMDSAS and AMCAS share some data on applicants, mostly for cross checking state residency, they may in fact share this info as well.

Mens rea is notoriously hard to prove 😛 Unless you made your SDN account pretty obviously identifiable. But there is an asymmetry of power between you and the AAMC and it's not a good idea to intentionally hide stuff.

Sorry, OP, but you have to report everything, from dual enrollment CC credits you took in high school half a decade ago to study abroad courses (assuming you were enrolled in a college to take them). And yeah, that D is going to bring your GPA down. The good news is, if it's the only bad grade you have, you can laugh about your stupid youthful cluelessness at your med school interviews, instead of spending the rest of your life waiting for all those darn skeletons to pop out of your closet.

(Translation: one D on an otherwise good academic record is not the end of the world. Deliberately falsifying your med school apps is a serious enough offense to ensure that you will probably never become a doctor in this country period.)

If *I* have to own over 25 F's, 30 W's, 20 D's, 11 C's, 3 B's and 3 A's (tennis, golf and sex ed) then you can own your grades too. I was a complete and utter cluckup (obviously, there are some circumstances as well).

Nearly a 4.0 now, 30 years post all that @#$p. It's okay.

Either adcom will admire the effort it took for you to clean up your mess, or not. If they don't admire the effort to reward you with an II and potential matriculation, that's not a school you want to attend anyway and there are plenty that reward "reinvention" but I know of NOT ONE that rewards, lying.

When I asked about turning things around in my early 30's, the dean of med school was speaking at my Rotary Club and literally laughed at me when I asked, "Is there a chance"... he's now at one of top 3 ... I'm not applying there 😉

To be fair, you have very good mitigating circumstances and time on your side. The OP probably does not. He should still report them, but it may not be as easy to sweep it under the rug.

Edit: just saw it's only one D grade. Definitely not something to worry about. It would be way worse to risk not disclosing it.

Yeah. That was the "plus time" part. Having to go through difficult circumstances while in school is different than just being lazy or not getting the material. I'm not trying to put down your experience or advice. Just pointing out a little difference.
